The original recipe for these delicious brownies came from my mother-in-law who used to make brownies in muffin tins for high school marching band events. When I joined the family, they quickly became a favorite family treat to whip up when we’re having guests over, or just when we want a quick treat.
While I was grocery shopping at the store several months ago, I saw a bag of Reese’s Minis candies and immediately knew they would be the perfect size for mini brownie bites (I find them in the candy aisle or at checkout by the candy bars).
This is a perfect treat to make if your kids want to “help”! It’s pretty fast to whip up, and doesn’t involve anything very advanced.
If you want to add a sophisticated (but super easy!) chocolate drizzle, I’ve outlined how I do that below:
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 good-quality zipper baggy or microwavable bowl
Measure the chocolate chips into a good zipper baggy or into a microwavable bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, then smoosh the bag with your fingers to “stir.” Continue to heat in 10 second increments, until the chocolate chips are melted. Seal the baggy and carefully snip off a corner (just a tiny bit, you can always make it bigger if needed).
Pinch the melted chocolate into the corner of the baggy and wrap your palm around it like a pastry bag. Gently squeeze the bag with your palm while moving in a smooth zig-zag motion over your brownies (practice on wax paper or a napkin if needed).
